There have been several definitions for what the ideal roles of men and women should be in a marriage. Some of these ideals are based on sex, history, culture, or even body size and strength. But are any of these ideals correct or not? If they are, do we choose to embrace everything that they say to do, or are there certain features we do not follow to the letter?

This could become quite a tedious debate. But in truth, there is no such thing as a true ideal except for that of the original designer: God.

Neither the traditional, egalitarian nor any other model of marriage are ideal. All of them have warped views of leadership and authority that differ from what God says. They ultimately result in unfavourable conditions for couples that decide to follow them.

In this course week, we will discuss roles, responsibilities, and leadership structure in marriage.
